Artist Statement

Weiqin's artwork emerges from the landscapes of her upbringing and the flux of her inner states. It journeys from societal imprints to the embrace of the natural world, a path of healing woven through her veins. Her inspiration primarily revolves around her family, childhood, and cultural background. Over time, her focus has expanded to the natural elements that nurture her—the earth, stones, seeds, and the tangible environments that sustain life. Weiqin is reclaiming the overlooked whispers of the earth, the subtle life of organisms, and the epoch of humanity. Through mixed media, she articulates her communion with these elements, exploring a profound connectivity that resonates with her soul.
